Corvinus, like several other universities in Hungary, has decided to introduce measures to save energy. As part of the measures, the building of the university will be closed for both students and staff members during the winter break from 23 December to 15 January.
According to a press release of Corvinus, with the start of the heating season, lessons will be held in two buildings (Building C and the Sóház/Salt House) from 22 October. The lessons originally scheduled for Saturdays in the Main Building (E) will be held in Building C and the Sóház/Salt House.
The examination period has also been reorganised: the first week of the period will be from 19 to 23 December, and the January part of the examination period will be shifted to 16.01.2023 – 05.02.2023, meaning that students will still have four weeks to sit for their exams.

The period of final examinations will be between 30 January and 3 February. Examinations will be held in person in the buildings of the university.
The registration week of the spring semester will start on 13 February and end on 26 February, while the study period will start on 20 February and end on 26 May. There will be no project week in the spring semester. Lecturers who would teach project week subjects, may choose from the following options:
The possible changes affecting the dormitories are still being negotiated, according to the press release of Corvinus.
Not only Corvinus has introduced measures to save energy. The heating in lecture and dormitory halls can be set to a maximum of 20 degrees, according to energy-saving measures at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. Hot water is also turned off, and autumn, spring breaks will be cancelled.
The University of Pécs has also announced its savings measures in response to the significant rise in energy prices. According to these, the temperature provided by heating cannot exceed 20 degrees in the university’s lecture, office and dormitory halls, and 18 degrees in the public halls and corridors. The savings measures also modify the structure of the academic year: the autumn break is cancelled.
ELTE had already changed the structure of academic year at the beginning of September. The autumn break has been moved to 12-17 December, so the last day of the autumn semester will be the 9th December (10th December for correspondence training).
